Individual Therapy
In our sessions, I draw on a blend of therapeutic approaches to explore how your emotions, thoughts, body (including non-verbal cues), and behaviours interact in the present moment, shaping your current experiences and responses. Together, we’ll deepen your self-awareness, uncover new insights, support your nervous system regulation, and build resilience, empowering you with new ways of relating to yourself, others, and the world around you.
What to Expect in Therapy and Counselling

This is an opportunity for us to connect, discuss what brings you to therapy, and explore how I can support you. You can ask any questions, and we’ll determine if we’re a good fit before moving forward.
Initial Session
Our first session is where we begin building our therapeutic relationship. Together, we’ll explore what’s weighing on you -your concerns, wishes, or goals for therapy- while identifying patterns and gaining clarity on your experiences. You’re encouraged to share at your own pace. We’ll also discuss how I work, what to expect from therapy, and lay the foundation for
Collaborative Work
Therapy is a co-created experience in which we are both participants. It is not something done to you but something we shape together in real-time. We will continue cultivating safety, trust, and mutual respect as we work together, allowing space for you to be more of yourself and have authentic exploration.
Ongoing Sessions
Healing isn’t a one-time event; it’s a process. In our ongoing sessions, we’ll continue to build on your progress, adapt our approach as needed, and support your personal growth.
Let’s explore how I can best support you and ensure we’re a good fit
Frequently Asked Questions:
-
Our first session is a chance to get to know each other. We’ll discuss what’s brought you to therapy and what you hope to get out of our work together. Sessions run for 50 minutes. You don’t need to prepare anything special for our first meeting, but if you have, that’s okay too. Just come as you are. There’s no pressure to share everything right away; you can go at your own pace. This is just the beginning of our work together.
-
That’s completely okay! Therapy is simply a space for you to explore and untangle your thoughts, feelings, and experiences together in a way that feels safe, supportive and with no judgement. It’s completely normal to feel a bit nervous at first- many people do! But most find they start to relax as we talk. no pressure to share everything at once - we go at your pace.
-
I don't take Mental Health Care Plans or offer rebates. My fees are set to provide ongoing support without the session limits that typically come with rebate schemes. If you're looking for ongoing therapy that might extend beyond any limits, my practice offers flexibility to continue sessions as needed. If you need a progress letter for your GP, I'm more than happy to provide one - just let me know.

Most new clients start with weekly sessions for the first 6-8 weeks to build a strong foundation. Many choose to continue weekly, while others shift to fortnightly. It’s entirely up to you—I’ll support whatever pace feels right.

I believe therapy works best when it’s a collaborative effort. You’re the expert on your life—I’m here to help you make sense of things, offer guidance, and explore new perspectives. My work is trauma-informed, person-centered, and deeply relational, with a mix of practical strategies and deeper healing work tailored to your needs.
-
There’s no set timeline—everyone’s journey is different. Some people come in for a few sessions to work through a specific challenge, while others engage in longer-term therapy to explore deeper patterns and personal growth. You’re always in control—you can pause, stop, or change the frequency of sessions whenever you need.

I offer in-person therapy in Brisbane and online therapy across Australia and internationally. No matter where you are, we can work together.

I do not work with clients who are in high-risk crisis situations or require intensive crisis intervention. If you are experiencing acute distress, suicidal thoughts, or require immediate support, I strongly encourage you to reach out to crisis services such as Lifeline (13 11 14), your GP, or a crisis mental health team in your area. Therapy with me is best suited for individuals looking for ongoing support, personal growth, and healing in a safe, structured space.

EMDR Therapy
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based, trauma-informed therapy that supports recovery from distressing experiences like trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and other emotional challenges. It uses bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements, while focusing on troubling memories, emotions, or physical sensations. This helps the brain reprocess stored trauma and reduce its emotional intensity. Think of it as helping your brain find a more adaptive, balanced way to make sense of painful memories and move forward.

More on EMDR therapy
EMDR Frequently Asked Questions:
-
In your first EMDR session, we’ll discuss what’s bringing you to therapy and explain how EMDR works. This is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, focus on building trust, and begin creating a plan that feels safe and manageable.
-
EMDR therapy works by gently stimulating both sides of the brain through techniques like guided eye movements, tapping, or sounds. While doing this, you bring a distressing memory or feeling to mind. This helps your brain reprocess how that memory is stored. This doesn’t mean you’re erasing the memory, instead you’re shifting its emotional charge, making it feel less overwhelming over time.
-
Not at all. One of the benefits of EMDR therapy is that you don’t need to go into every detail of your experience. The focus is on helping your brain reprocess what happened in a way that feels safe and manageable, without needing to relive it all.
-
Many people who engage in EMDR therapy report feeling more balanced and less reactive to emotional triggers. It can support in reducing the intensity of anxiety, trauma-related symptoms and ongoing stress, making daily life feel more manageable.
-
The number of EMDR sessions depends on your goals and what you'd like support with. Some people notice shifts after just a few sessions, while others may benefit from a longer process, especially when working through long-term stress or complex trauma. We’ll check in regularly and adjust the pace together, making sure each step feels manageable and aligned with what you need.
